Old Mill Soccer Tournament/ Select Team Participation
A) The Dynamo Soccer Association will make every attempt to field teams in each available division of the Old Mill Soccer Invitational Tournament. Coaches may keep fewer than the maximum number of players listed.
B) The Coaches Coordinator shall be responsible for enlisting coaches for the Dynamo Soccer Association’s participation in the Old Mill Soccer Invitational. When possible these coaching assignments will be made prior to the first Dynamo game so coaches can observe prospective player game performances throughout the season. Preference shall be given to interested and qualified current Dynamo Soccer Association coaches and assistants; when all head coaching positions cannot be filled, the Coaches Coordinator shall be allowed to seek interested and qualified current members from the Dynamo Soccer Association.
C) Each team may have up to three registered coaches on the team sideline.
D) The Registration/Draft Coordinator will host an Old Mill Registration where all players/parents will submit required paperwork and fees by that date. The Registration/Draft Coordinator and Coaches Coordinator shall work together to collect, organize and submit all registration materials for all teams to the Old Mill Association
E) Participation on the Old Mill Soccer Invitational select teams will be open to any athlete who played in the Dynamo Soccer Association during the previous regular season.
F) Head coaches will be informed of the Dynamo Soccer Association Board’s requirement that all roster players play in each game played in the Old Mill Soccer Invitational. Head coaches will not be bound by a specified amount of playing time, but will be encouraged to ensure that each player has a fair and relevant amount of field time commensurate with that player’s ability.
G) Prospective members of the Old Mill Soccer Invitational teams will be given the opportunity to try-out for a pre-set number of roster spots on their corresponding-age team. In the event a player has played up a division during the Dynamo regular season, they must declare before the first try-out as to which team they aspire to be a part of. These try-outs will generally be held over two days, approximately one month prior to the playing of the Old Mill Soccer Invitational; it should be noted that weather considerations as well as the schedules of individual head coaches might necessitate a change in this policy. Every effort will be made to ensure our athletes of two chances to try-out. Try-outs will be announced in the Dynamo Soccer Association newsletter, and will be posted on the league’s website.
H) Team members, once chosen, will be announced on the league’s website. All players who make the team will also receive a personal telephone call from a member of the coaching staff.
I) The Equipment Manager shall be responsible for the distribution of uniforms to the head coaches/board members for the Old Mill Soccer Invitational teams.
J) The Dynamo Soccer Association board member attached to each Old Mill Soccer Invitational entry shall be charged with the collection of prorated player fees before the tournament and of uniforms (in various years this may include soccer jerseys, soccer shorts, and/or soccer socks), their laundering, storage, and return to the Equipment Manager after the tournament.
K) The publicity chairperson shall be responsible for any notification of the local media, should any of the Dynamo Soccer Association teams fare well in the Old Mill Soccer Invitational.
L) Everyone trying out should bring water, a ball, and wear a white t-shirt. They should also bring a dark colored t-shirt with them. Athletes who participate on traveling teams may try out, but the coaches must adhere to the rules set forth by the tournament referring to the number of those travel team players that may be rostered.
M) If an athlete is selected to represent Dynamo they will be committing to extra practices during October as well as a full weekend schedule on the weekend scheduled for the tournament. There will also be a feecollected from each player to help cover costs associated with the tournament.
